I fell in love with wolves when I was like four years old. We went to the Zoo (adnd I'm going to visit it Thursday!) and they were at the beginning of the park. We hadn't seen them till that day, they were just two meters away from me. We had a dog since I was a half year old, so it was something special. Since that moment, I need to see them first and am really fond of them.

Werewolves.. Hehehe, We have a Dutch writer called Paul van Loon. He wrote a book about a small boy called 'Tim' (OMG, another one!) who turned into a werewolf. That was one of my first experiences with werewolves. Byt the funny fact is, when I start reading the HP books, I didn't notices that Remus would be one. The only thought I had was "Hmm, he has the samen name as the child in Remus and Romulus". Stupid isn't it

wolves ... I have several of my mother's collection of wolves (ceramic), that I inherited. They're really lovely canines. I hear a real wolf will not attack a human unless they are sick.

Werewolves are the things of legend and fiction, but to be honest, there is a particular psychotic disorder (sort of like schizophrenia) where the sufferer really believes they change into a wolf with the full moon! I wonder if this was the thing that began the legend!

I have read in fiction that men who are werewolves are of Martial body-type, with red hair, but some may even have Saturnian body-type features and blond hair. Odd that David Thewlis (who played Lupin in HP movies) actually has reddish hair (unlike Lupin), and is a cross between a Saturnian-Martial body-type. Odd coincidence, really.

It would make for a better story about werewolves if they looked like NORMAL timber wolves (or grey wolves), because then no one would be the wiser - more chance for danger lurking around! Well, that, and the fact that normal wolves are prettier than the hideous monsters they have created! But then, that is my own opinion, and you know what they say about opinions... (lol)

Well, it's certainly a good thing that they are only fictional creatures, yes? If they weren't we might not be so inclined to take them so lightly, and the notion that they are HARMLESS. If they were real and we had such a fancy, we might just get our throats ripped out, wouldn't you say?

(Scary thought, really - in a morbid sort of way...)(lol)

I believed in werewolves when I was younger, and wanted to be one. I even went as far as reading books on the methods one could use to turn into one without being bitten. Suffice to say I was a child and never followed through LOL

Folklore however is a hobbie of mine, and I adore werewolf mythos, as well vampires. There are so many different takes on werewolves. HP universe has an interesting take on them, and I wished JKR had gone a bit more in depth into the curse itself.

Why is it that I can actually picture you doing that? LOL

Same here. She made a big deal about the lycanthropy, but then didn't say very much about it except that it made it difficult for Remus to be employed. It would've been nice if she'd done a bit more with it.

When I was reading POA and saw his name was Remus Lupin, I was like "That whole name speaks of someone wolfish." Mostly the Remus part since I to had read the story about the founders of Rome being Remus and Romulus. I loved when Remus used that as a handler name in the seventh book.

Anyway, I love wolves. I snagged one of my moms t-shirts simply because it has a wolf with a full moon in the background. I just love it. It is my favorite t-shirt.

As for werewolves, I've read some cultures still believe that they are very real. Some parts of Romania, I read, believe they are real. I don't know how true it is though. I think anything is possible in this society. They're pretty cool.

And I agree that JKR should have elaborated more on Lupin. I'd like it if she just wrote a book from his view point. We could get the Marauder's story. Be nice...All well, suppose thats why we have fan-fic.

Go Wolves!

Ironically I am from a state with the Wolverines for a team. (Michigan)

Random question, since it was the lunar eclipse tonight...
Would a person still transform into a werewolf during the lunar eclipse? Just wondering...
