I don't mean to nitpick, but the man in this picture is not David. The man Veronika slaps can be seen clearly at 1:13 in this trailer.

Yeah, it's not David/Dr. Blake. It's actually a fellow patient.

Many many many thanks to 'AOC' for emailing us the following information!

It's very possible that Veronika Decides to Die will open in Brazil on August of 2009 - judging by the poster that has been released by IMP Awards.

The film's Brazilian distributor has added a Gallery for the film, which includes five brand new photos of David.

The images featured in their gallery have been obtained by our staff in ultra high-resolution and will be added to the site and gallery tomorrow evening (courtesy of our lovely Tannim's impressive photo-hunting skills).

They are not going to air it here for as far as I know and that is such a shame.
David is a Paula Coelho! How awesome is that!

Further confirmation on release dates :

AOC confirms that the film will be released in Brazil this month on August 14.
The Daily Mail UK suggests the film will be released in November (United States).

IMDB additionally confirms these release dates.

The only other date listed is for Poland: 09 October 2009 (according to Stopklatka). Many thanks to AOC for notifying us of this information as well!

I saw the trailer for this. It looks like a great movie to watch. Really insightful...

Looking for the book to read before the film comes out.

I like the glasses David wears in this film. Really fits his character. The glasses themselves look dorky, but when David wears them in this film, he makes them look undorky and make them suit his character well.

Here's to hoping that the movie will be released to one of the movie theaters around here and it'll go on the Five Buck Club about a month later (We have Kerasote Theaters).

Speaking of the glasses, they remind me of Geoffrey Rush from The Life and Death of Peter Sellers. I think he wore them or a similar style in that movie too...

I just finish reading the book since my library had it (it was so short!) and it was really good! Definitely recommend reading the book before the film comes out.

So I was trying to find the book on Amazon.com and guess what I found? I found a copy of the book that's going to tie-in with the actual movie! I'm guessing they're going to release a copy to mimic the film because they were some minor differences from the actual book and trailer from the film that I noticed while reading.

Yeah. The VDTD film group on Facebook lists the release dates as following:

Brazil - 21 August 2009
Poland - 2 October 2009
Sweden - 30 October 2009 (confirmed by SF.se)
Korea - 12 November 2009

IMdB has no final release date for the US and UK, other than the release will be scheduled around 2010.
