We have a spam filter installed on the boards now! At last, I think we've all seen the last of the spammers on this board (both posters & registrants).
Thank you so much to Tannim & Mandi for setting all of this up - filtering spam takes up a lot of the time I spend on 'Thewlis Rox', now it won't be a problem any further you two are the greatest!

Tannim has superhuman powers....I think we had 19,000 spammers & she deleted all of them in 48 hours. Amazing.

I showed her how to access the mysql database and get to the list of users... she went crazy from there

Hehe... I deleted them all using the phpmyadmin.
It allowed me to pull up huge lists of registrations, scan them for spammers, and then delete them. But yeah... we went from over 20,000 registered users down to a hundred something."What we do in life echoes in eternity."

Haha it was always interesting to see the usernames those spammers came up with such as 'viiiiiiiiiaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaa' - ew

What drove me nuts was seeing activated accounts with names like Pornbot2000

No idea how that one slipped by or that user who registered as 'YOUSTOLEMYBABY'
