What put you off going to see movies in theaters? And, from before that happened, do you have a favorite at-the-movies memory?
Is it bad for a film major to not really enjoy watching films in theatres? I mean I do like it, when you're with the right crowd. Not the overly pretentious film buffs or things like that, you just know that it feels right when you're there. But mainly, the lack of funds & ticket prices going up & all that started to put me off. If it's a film I really want to see & I have the ability to go & watch it, I'll go & dish out the cash. But sometimes I just tend to wait until it's out on DVD. That and I never actually did go to the movies very often when I was younger. It just wasn't a thing in my family, but there would be days where my parents randomly decided to bring us all to the movies.
As cheesy as it sounds, when I was in 7th grade, I went to watch Corky Romano (yeah, I don't know...) with my friends for my birthday. Right after the film ended, they all started to sing happy birthday to me, hahaha. That & the one movie I most remember seeing in the theatres is Air Force One. It's always stuck in my mind, haha.
