I heard Monsters vs. Aliens was one of the highest grossing films of 2009 - pretty impressive! I love animated films as well, but have yet to see that one! Do you own it?

Nah, which is strange because I saw it twice in theatres - once at the premiere & the second with Analynn. I keep planning on getting a copy but I keep forgetting. I love it though.

What put you off going to see movies in theaters? And, from before that happened, do you have a favorite at-the-movies memory?

Is it bad for a film major to not really enjoy watching films in theatres? I mean I do like it, when you're with the right crowd. Not the overly pretentious film buffs or things like that, you just know that it feels right when you're there. But mainly, the lack of funds & ticket prices going up & all that started to put me off. If it's a film I really want to see & I have the ability to go & watch it, I'll go & dish out the cash. But sometimes I just tend to wait until it's out on DVD. That and I never actually did go to the movies very often when I was younger. It just wasn't a thing in my family, but there would be days where my parents randomly decided to bring us all to the movies.

As cheesy as it sounds, when I was in 7th grade, I went to watch Corky Romano (yeah, I don't know...) with my friends for my birthday. Right after the film ended, they all started to sing happy birthday to me, hahaha. That & the one movie I most remember seeing in the theatres is Air Force One. It's always stuck in my mind, haha.

These days, it's not so bad for a film major to avoid theaters given the expense and the many distractions provided by other patrons. And the right crowd makes an immense difference. I miss the old days, but now just wait for the DVD to come out. Sigh.

Is there anything you're looking forward to seeing soon?

Hm... I still want to see Sherlock Holmes actually. The lore behind Legion kind of intrigues me, but I'm not a big horror fan. I'd really like to see Up in the Air again; I really liked it. I've always wanted to watch Last Chance Harvey & it just so happened to be on right now, hahaha. Oh, and (500) Days of Summer.

Oh, and (500) Days of Summer.

I watched that on the airplane last week, its alright, but for some reason, I think you'd enjoy it more.

Are you going to go see Extraordinary Measures with Harrison Ford? I got premiere tickets and I've been trying to call you so you can go, I can't make it, I have class (and work).

Baha, depends on the actor I fangirled at the time - lol, I started young. But, as far as I can remember, it was probably Independence Day & While You Were Sleeping. Bill Pullman was so dreaaammmmmyyyy, lololol. No joke, I watched Independence Day so many times, I memorized the lines from the entire movie. My aunt paid me money to recite the speech Bill Pullman's character gave before they went to fight the aliens. XD
