RPG: the Abandoned Werewolf

Hadley looked over at Remus, a bit uncomfortable. She had only known he was a werewolf, nothing more. She had never seen him in wolf form nor heard much about it. It was one of those unspoken subjects. She wondered what he would say. She wondered what she would do while he was gone.

Remus felt slightly uncomfortable about the topic but cleared his throat and answered anyways, "I guess we could do that this time... If you want to come to make sure I'm okay, you could stay in the cabin and put charms on it to keep me out... you.. you could come too if you want to Hadley... I don't blame you if you don't want to. I wouldn't come either if I had a choice."



Erphram nodded, "That sounds like a plan. I never have liked the idea of just letting you go off into the dark forest and waiting to see if you show up the next day... it's not good on my nerves."

Hadley shifted in her seat uncomfortably. Neither idea sounded pleasing. The idea of Remus running around the forest, and not knowing if he would return alright, or return at all, didn't suit her. But the idea of being able to look out the window and catching a glimpse of Remus in the one form he would rather die than have her see....

She took a gulp of water, truely wishing it was rum.

"I..I...I d-don't know what I'll do. I...I should probably stay here with Ephram and keep him...company," she replied awkwardly.

Remus nodded and took a drink of waterwishing, just like Hadley, that it was alcohol. "Okay.... Ephram do you want to put up the wards like last time... to make sure I don't go to far?"



Ephram nodded, "I'll do that now just so we don't have to do it right before you transform." Ephram got up from the table and went outside to set wards up so Remus would have plenty of room to run but not too much so he couldn't get too far.



Remus sighed as Ephram left and looked down at his half eaten sandwich, "You... you don't have to come Hadley.... if you don't want to... it's... it's not a pleasant sight..." I'd rather she not see me like that.... but then I did go and invite her... It's guilt Remus, guilt, you think she'll realize what you really are finally and realize you're not worth her time... He shook his head to try to stop his thought process.

Hadley looked at Remus with honest eyes. They showed her slight fear, but they also showed how much she cared about him. How much she wanted to help him. Hadley wasn't afraid for herself, she was afraid for him. She didn't want any harm to befall him. Wouldn't Sirius and James feel wonderful if something actually did happen to Remus... she thought in a negative sarcastic tone.

"Remus, I'll go. I dont know if I want to be so far away from you while I don't know what could happen to you...."

Remus sighed and nodded, "Just please stay in the cabin... I'm far too unpredictable when I transform." Remus cringed slightly when he thought back to the time that Sirius had tricked Severus into seeing Remus when he had transformed. I never even really hated Severus like James and Sirius did... and still I could have been the one to kill him that night.

Hadley looked up at Remus when he said this. She swallowed and nodded before taking another drink of water.
"Alright," she replied at last.

Remus nodded and looked over at Hadley with a nervous look on his face. He was worried that if she saw him in his werewolf form she wouldn't want to be around him anymore but he knew that she deserved to see what he really was.



Ephram set up the wards carefully to make sure that Remus couldn't get through them. He was tired from the magic energy it took to cast the spells but once they were cast he was satisfied that they would keep Remus in. He went back inside and sat down at the table. He saw the exchange of looks between Remus and Hadley and stayed silent.

Hadley glanced up at Ephram as he sat down. She had a very uncomfortable feeling in her stomach that she couldn't explain. She knew that no matter what Remus would always be held with high regard, but for some reason that she couldn't explain she felt uncomfortable. Unsure with the situation.

Remus looked over at Ephram and smiled slightly, "Thanks for doing that Ephram."

"No problem mate, you two ready to go back? I need to check with my boss about getting time off to come up here."

Remus sighed and nodded, "Yeah." He looked over at Hadley and smiled slightly as he reached across the table and took her hand in his own. He really wasn't feeling too great so he turned to Ephram and said, "Any chance this old cabin is still hooked up to the floo network?"

Hadley gave Remus's hand a squeeze. Just by looking at him, Hadley could tell he wasn't feeling well. His complexion was pale and his eyes were glassy.

"You feeling alright, Remus?" she asked.

Ephram nodded, "Yeah it's still hooked up to the floo network." He left the room to start a fire. He was worried about Remus like he always was right before Remus would transform. He stared into the fire and sighed deeply.



Remus sighed and shook his head, "I'll be okay... I just get like this before the full moon... I feel weak... and slightly sick." He gave her hand a squeeze and smiled slightly. "I've become used to it.... I'll be like this for a few days afterwards too...." With some fresh cuts that will soon become scars.

Hadley nodded but gave him a sympathetic look. She remembered now. She remembered how out of wack poor Remus would be a few days before he'd leave and a few days after he'd come back. It's worse than my monthly curse.... she thought with some ironic humor, but ultamantly deemed it entirely not funny. How can you even compare the two, Hadley?

Remus sighed and looked up as Ephram came back in the room. "It's ready to go mate. I'm gonna leave through the front door and lock it up and then apparate back to the flat."

Remus nodded, "See you back there." Remus stood up shakily an pulled Hadley up with him. "You want to come back by floo with me?"



Ephram locked the door behind him and took a deep breath and looked around. "See you again in a few days Elis." Ephram disapparated back to the flat. When he got back he went and sat in front of the fire waiting for Remus and Hadley to return wishing that he could still get some alcohol into the place because he could use a drink.

Hadley gave him a one armed hug before nodding. "Sure, Why not?" She smiled at him lovingly before heading towards the fireplace.
