A very early screening was hosted, IMDB reader 'Randy' submitted his review to their message board.

I believe it was their first ever screening. they told us the movie was almost complete, it only had the last stages of editing left and a bit of the score. they didnt tell us what we were watching until the we got into the screening, so I didnt have any expectations until then. I did hear of the movie randomly so I was excited to get to see an early screening. I will say that the movie is very good. we are not aloud to say much about it but this should be a movie with good reviews. all the acting was excellent, particularly by the two leads. I dont think Colin Farrell is quite as good here as he was in In Bruges but still a very good performance. and that is by no means a bad thing, he was superb in In Bruges and has just a tad bit less to work with in this film. but still, fans should not be disappointed. Im normally not a big fan of Keira Knightley, Ive liked her in somethings and not so much in others but this is definitely her best performance yet. she impressed me alot. Plus she and Colin Farrell had great chemistry. everyone else was good as well, especially David Thewlis as KK's manager.

What's Up with William Monahan's 'London Boulevard'?
"London Boulevard" reportedly completed principal photography in August of 2009 and will serve as Monahan's directorial debut following his Oscar-winning screenplay for Scorsese's "The Departed", but something must be up. Smart thinking would have presumed the film would have landed in Toronto looking for a buyer, but with Monahan still tooling around in post means it obviously wouldn't have been ready. Originally I thought GK Films was just holding off because they didn't want to have another crime romance competing with their just released "The Town" this Fall, but I guess it was something else.

I was thinking this exact same thing last night :| I'm looking forward to this film so much it physically hurts! C'mon with those release dates (or a trailer at least)!

An update on the release of London Boulevard.

London Boulevard UK release: Nov 26
Just in case anyone is curious; I know it's been a while since there's been any news on the film:

http://www.launchingfilms.com/releasesc ... year=2010#

It's gotten good test screening reactions, but apparently they're having trouble knowing how to distribute it; also, at least up until last week, Monahan was still working on it, so that explains its no-show at TIFF. I still wonder why it's not going to the London FF, though.

I almost wonder if they should just wait until next year so it can have that festival run - otherwise they better starting getting those trailers/still/clips out fast to build up public interest.

Still no official word on the US release, but I've spoken through email to a GK film rep and she said Spring 2011 - I imagine its release will be based on its reception in the UK.

There will not be news of press/events/premieres and their location until much closer to the release date.
